Box Off My Computer

If you have tried all the other things posted in Box Off My Computer - Computer Maintenace Help Blog and still your computer is slow and sluggish (especially on startup) then try this.

Go to your 'start menu' then 'run'

Type msconfig and click on 'run'

Go to 'start up' tab

Un-check everything in there*

Click 'apply'

Close the msconfig window

Select 'Restart'

Done, you should notice how quickly your computer is ready to use after switching on.

*Please note that everything that used to automatically open on start up, for example MSN Messenger will not now. They still remain on your computer so you will have to open them manually. Or, you can choose to only un-tick a few boxes in the 'start up' tab and leave the likes of MSN Messenger ticked so they will continue to automatically run on startup.
